Loncor is committed to ensuring that local communities share in the benefits of mineral development through initiatives to promote social and economic development, as well as through job creation and skills development. 


The community of Bafwanakengele, located near the Yindi exploration site, together with Loncor Resources and the Loncor Foundation, officially inaugurated the Bafwanakengele Primary School. Built by the Loncor Foundation, the school, which has eight classrooms, a meeting room and principal's office, accommodates over 400 primary students. Among the dignitaries participating in the Official Opening was the Vice Governor of Orientale Province, His Excellency Arama Najiam Israel, the Minister of Education, Mr. Polidor Lakibo and the administrator of Mambassa Terriotry, Mr. Drakana. Loncor was represented by Fabrice Matheys, General Manager of the Ngayu Project, and Franco Chobohwa, Senior Government Administrative Officer. Shown below is a gallery of photos from the event.
